RX-3N1 vs Flo-Dynamics C-VAC3: Coolant Exchange Machine Comparison
This RX-3N1 vs Flo-Dynamics C-VAC3 comparison covers power source, capacity, weight, and EV coolant compatibility, based on each manufacturer’s published specifications.

Bottom line: the RX-3N1 runs entirely on shop air, while the C-VAC3 needs both a 12V DC connection and shop air to operate. Both handle drain-and-fill, inline flush, and full exchange, but the RX-3N1 does it through a single tube on air alone, and weighs about half as much — 78 lbs vs the C-VAC3’s 159 lbs.

Why the Single-Tube Exchange Design Matters
Both machines handle drain-and-fill, inline flush, and full exchange — the difference is how. The C-VAC3 does it with larger tanks and a heavier frame, and needs both a 12V DC connection and shop air to run. The RX-3N1 does the same range of jobs through a single tube, running on shop air alone — no second power system to wire up or maintain. Fewer connection points also means less that can leak or fail, and at 78 lbs it’s far easier to move between bays than the C-VAC3’s 159 lbs.
Running entirely on shop air also means the RX-3N1 doesn’t need a 12V DC connection in addition to your air line — one utility instead of two.
The RX-3N1’s push-pull feature also removes up to 95% of old fluid, well above what a simple drain-and-fill achieves. EV coolant systems run at different pressures than conventional cooling systems, and the C-VAC3 needs a separate optional Pressure Reducer accessory to handle them. The RX-3N1’s pressure regulator is built into the machine, so there’s no extra part to buy, track, or forget to attach before servicing an EV.
Family-Owned, and It Shows
Engine Clean has been family-owned since 1989, but that doesn’t mean we’re stuck in our ways. We’re tech-forward and run the same modern tools and professional support infrastructure you’d expect from a large company — we just don’t have the layers that come with one. When you call us, you get a real person, and that person can actually fix your problem, not a case number in a queue at a public company or a private-equity-owned brand. If something goes wrong with your RX-3N1, one call or email gets you a direct answer.
